War Of USM and TSU!

On June 23rd 2012 a group named USM or United States Military came under fire by the so called "Freedom Phantom." Or in other words the Soviet Union and their leader. (Emblem above) USM took heavy fighting and did not officially call it a war. On June 24th 2012, 2 Soviet Nuclear missiles landed in eastern Kazakhstan and The southern tip of Kunar AFB. USM has launched pilots from Lackland AFB on a rescue mission of 3 pilots taken hostage by Soviet Tank commanders. So far the Soviets are winning an accurate 82-46 in the battles. Using 'wait' Wisely

A little cut out of what was posted on ROBLOX Blog:

Many script's want to run bit's of code at frequent intervals. For example, the script might might update the behaviour of a zombie. It need's to update condition's repeatedly, like checking the location of the closest player to the zombie.

ROBLOX is trying to tell you, that instead of using wait(), you can use wait(10) instead.

Because if you just leave the bracket () empty, wait() will be regening 1000 times a second, yet instead, you could just have 10 items regening a second. Games with just wait() tend to be the more laggy ones, making your player's just click [X] in the corner! (or of course your red O)

For example:


while true do
findClosestEnemy()
wait()
end

that, above isn't a good script. Can you spot the mistake?

But, this below, is correct. Can you see why?


while true do
findClosestEnemy()
wait(5.0)
end

Even I know how to do that, and I already did. (and you know how rubbish at scripting I am!) So really, ROBLOX is just giving you a reminder, but it's also a lesson for the people whose zombie game's are laggy!

How the Easter Egg Hunt 2012 went

As if you didn't know, it's iHtc here!

We're posting about the OFFICIAL Egg Hunt 2012 - not one made by people like EggHuntz2012's un-official version.

The Easter Egg Hunt 2012 did go quite well, but by the end of the time, server's got hacked, exploited, people got weapons, some wiped the base away, and many more bad things. We'll talk about that after - let's keep on the Good News for now!

The Easter Egg Hunt 2012 went great, we had more than 10,000+ people get at least two egg's, and possibly around 2500 (these figures are just estimated) got all of the eggs, without their server being hacked (see more on Hacking later)

Sadly, this place is no longer reachable, as the creator, Games has made this place inactive, so we cannot access it, he cannot earn 'Tix', and can't enter it in Competitions.

Hacking... what happened?

Sadly, many people, maybe reaching up to around 4,500 got all their egg's by going onto a hacked server. When I went onto a server, I didn't get the Virtual Egg's, but got displayed a screen-blocking message saying something like 'THIS SERVER HAS BEEN EXPLOITED BY [ CONTENT DELETED ]* Sorry for any inconvience' *I did [ CONTENT DELETED ] so you can't access the name, so you've got less of a chance of getting hacked yourself :-). This hacking was more on the Monday/Tuesday, as people knew it was their last chance to get all the egg's, but couldn't be bothered to move their fingers/mouse to get them.

TheCurrentRobloxNews is owned by Liam Mills (liama517). We TheCurrentRobloxNews' logo, name, and everything on this site is trademarked by Wreaking Havoc Productions. Liam is the main boss, he is the owner of the roblox.com group, the YouTube channel, the FaceBook page, the Twitter account, and the website. The way this organization works is that there is group of special members (of a board) that vote and decide on what happens to this organization. Once they vote on it, it gets passed onto Liam who can chose whether or not it will be good for the organization, and decide not to go through with the plans. Liam can only be fired with a 100% vote from the board and from the viewers of every page that TheCurrentRobloxNews owns. They will then hold a vote on who gets new ownership. If not all members/followers agree then Liam can not be fired as the main owner of TheCurrentRobloxNews. If Liam decides to resign, he can decide whether to leave it to the board to find a new owner, or if he appoints a new one. Liam can do anything in the organization without a vote from the board EXCEPT: Deleting the website, changing the name, transferring the website to another URL/page.

A video to far?

Video Advertisements... Picture Advertisements... A ROBUX too far?

Do you think ROBLOX has gone toooooooooooooooo (whoops!) far?


Now, you can upload a Video advertisement, to show the people what your game is really like... but... this is just an utter video tooooooooooooooooo (whoops, again!) far!


For a 30 second video on your game place, it cost's: 1000R$
For a normal picture, without having to get those annoying angles, it's: 20R$


For a 30 second video ad, 100R$... it's not worth it! ROBLOX did say on their blog, that this is a price to get started with, to see do they get spammed/are they too much for moderators, but, they won't find out... because: If people know they are going to be cheaper soon, they won't pay for it, but uhoh... ROBLOX think's nobody likes it, and delete's the feature... I asked a few people on the ROBLOX Official Blog, and VIA Private Messaging, and 8 out of every 9 people I asked said that it's a horrid price, a rip off, 1000R$.


Some people, like NBC member's take absolute ages to save up for R$, and then if they accidently upload the wrong video to YouTube, and ROBLOX declines it, dun dun dun!


Even with it just being a trial price... will it even go down, or even further up in the future?!

Dangerous Players

Other users of TCRN have told us that various admin accounts have been hacked.
I have so much to confess.

Suspect Nephew

I have been good friends with Patrick Murphy, or agenthunt77.  We have been friends in real life and on RoBLOX.  Only about a week ago he told me that he was Matt Dussek's nephew.

The Foolish Thing Matt Did

Unfortunatly, Matt told Patrick/agenthunt77 his password.  He did not know that this was dangerous, especially with Pat.  Pat/agenhunt77 hacked Matt's account, changing all of his places.  Matt was very angry, and had to start over.

What Worries Me

I'm afraid that Matt told Patrick other admin passwords, too.  What could have happened next?  What else, he hacked their accounts too.  Pat has always wanted a better RoBLOX, but I not sure this would be the solution.  I'll start questioning him.

TCRN+RIR Branched Relationship

Hello People at The Current Roblox News, this is me DCHop13 and Me and Liama have been talking and he has decided that my blog Roblox Item Reviews will have a Branched Partnership with TCRN so I will be staying here as a Board Member and I will be Helping Liama with the Site and I will be making Posts Often. Back to the Branch relationship thing, Here is a Graphic Diagram showing you what I meant by Branched Relationship.
